What's new for the redesigned Murano
The Murano was fully redesigned for the 2025 model year and the 2026 carries that redesign forward. The biggest mechanical change is under the hood: the previous-generation 3.5L V6 with a CVT is gone, replaced by a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder paired with a conventional 9-speed automatic transmission. VC-Turbo is Nissan's variable-compression engine — it physically changes its compression ratio on the fly, raising it for highway efficiency and lowering it for boosted off-the-line response. Output is about 241 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, with FWD standard and Intelligent AWD optional. The new platform brings a more upright, formal exterior and a redesigned interior built around dual 12.3-inch displays on higher trims.
