What changed for 2027 (and what didn't)
The 2027 Frontier is a carryover year on the hardware. The 3.8-liter V6, 9-speed automatic, frame, cab and bed choices, and the 7,150-lb maximum tow rating are unchanged from 2026, and fueleconomy.gov had not posted separate 2027 ratings as of mid-September 2026, which fits an unchanged powertrain. What is new is packaging. The SV grade gains a $990 Sport Edition package on both 4x2 and 4x4 trucks: black off-road-style 17-inch wheels on 265/70R17 Hankook Dynapro all-terrain tires, an aluminum skid plate, LED fog lights, front accent lighting, a black lower fascia, grille and mirror caps, Sport bedside and tailgate badges, and black cloth seats with yellow contrast stitching. PRO-X and PRO-4X can now add a Moonroof package alongside the Convenience package, the PRO Convenience wireless charger moves to the magnetic Qi2 standard with a cooling fan, and Alpine Metallic joins the paint chart. The base price rose $340 to $32,490. Trade coverage points to a redesigned Frontier for 2028 on the platform shared with the revived Xterra, so treat this as the final year of the current truck.
