What the 2-door Wrangler is
The two-door Wrangler is the original short-wheelbase Jeep — a body-on-frame, solid-axle SUV designed first for trails and second for everything else. It is the body style for buyers who use the vehicle on weekends rather than as a primary family hauler: shorter wheelbase makes it more nimble on tight trails like those at Hatfield-McCoy or Windrock, the lighter curb weight helps both off-road and at the pump, and the open-air experience is more intense than in the four-door because the cabin is closer to the elements. Powertrains for 2025 and 2026 are the 2.0L turbo four, the 3.6L Pentastar V6, and the 4xe plug-in hybrid. Every Wrangler runs through an 8-speed automatic; the V6 still offers a 6-speed manual on certain trims for buyers who want one.
